Ballet Lessons Northamptonshire Classical ballet is the most elegant and beautiful of all the dance disciplines, but also the most challenging! At any level of participation it is a really special, magical experience and we aim to provide that for all our pupils, whatever their age or ability. There are huge benefits to studying classical ballet for both children and adults. Here are just a few:
Excellent posture
Strength
Fitness
Musicality
Co-ordination
Flexibility
Self-discipline
Spatial awareness
Good manners
Agility
Teamwork
Fun! At The Oundle School of Ballet , we teach the highly regarded Cecchetti Method and pupils can take exams from the age of five upwards. These exams are indicators of technical and artistic achievement and give children an opportunity to present their new skills. Pupils who do particularly well in exams qualify to compete in the annual Cecchetti Classical Ballet Awards and/or audition for talent development programmes such as the Cecchetti Associates or Cecchetti Scholars.
We also put on shows every 2-3 years, when everyone gets the chance to dance with their classmates for their family and friends to watch!
Please be aware; it requires many years of careful and rigorous training to achieve real proficiency and it is rare to find the combination of talent, determination and physical suitability that will produce a professional ballet dancer. However, if your child exhibits real ability, we will help to develop their talent and encourage them to participate in programmes designed to challenge them; some of our students have gone on to vocational dance training at schools such as The Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School, Tring Park, Northern Ballet School and London Studio Centre.
